The combined Leagues of Women Voters (LWV) of the Capital Region would like to express our sincere thanks to Mona Golub of the Market 32 Price Choppers for once again making a successful National Voter Registration Day possible. All the managers went out of their way to help the volunteers.
League of Women Voters Albany County (LWVAC) coordinated 35 volunteers for ALL the Albany County Price Choppers/Maket32s, plus the Shop 'n' Save in Ravena. We were able to deliver voter registrations for more than 60 new voters to the Board of Elections. These included registrations for 5 other New York Counties , which were mailed. We met more than 1,000 members of the voting public, explaining the various ways that registration can be done online, as well the details of Early Voting, by mail, absentee ballots and in person voting.
Many thanks also to Kathy Sheehan, Pat Fahey, Sergio Adams, Christine Napierski and the
other elected officials who came out to help the League towards our non-partisan mission of
protecting and expanding voting rights.
