Annual Meeting of the League of Women Voters of Albany County

at the NYSUT Building in Latham
All LWVAC Members and their guests are invited to our Annual Meeting, a breakfast meeting with speaker Anita Sanchez - the Optimistic Activist. Following her presentation, we will hold our annual business meeting to elect board officers and directors, vote on our 2026-27 local program and budget, and acknowledge retiring board and new life members of the LWV. Review items we will vote on here.
Anita Sanchez will discuss "Keeping Optimistic, Informed and Non-partisan" in these highly politicized times.
She is an author and educator whose books sing the praises of unloved plants and animals, and of the unusual, often ignored wild places of the world. Years of teaching with the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation gave her experience introducing students to the wonders of nature. She is a determinedly optimistic activist for progressive causes, and writes a biweekly Substack called The Optimistic Activist with practical ideas for involvement. She is a 10-year member of the League of Women Voters and helps to administer social media for the Schenectady chapter.
If you plan to come only for the business meeting, we expect it to begin between 10: 45 and 11:00
